Evening numeracy classes

Introduction to digital office

Join us online for this beginner friendly course to build your confidence in Microsoft Office tools like Outlook, Word, and Excel. Gain a nationally recognised qualification (SQA Core Skills ICT at SCQF Level 4), boosting your employability and preparing yourself for future study or alternatively, you can work towards a Digital Badge.

Everyday budgeting

Join our fun and friendly online course and get confident with your money! We’ll cover everything from budgeting and shopping smart to understanding your payslip, bank accounts, and planning for the future - including pre-retirement tips. Whether you're just starting out or want to sharpen your money skills, this course is packed with practical advice you can use everyday. No jargon, just real-life know-how!

Setting up a bank account, online banking, switching accounts, savings accounts, apps, bank cards, direct debits and standing orders.

Making sense of your pay slip - dates to be confirmed

Pay, tax, National Insurance, union dues, pension contributions, other deductions, gross and nett pay, checking you’re getting paid the right amount.

Explore numeracy topics in relation to our natural world and introduce knowledge of specific species through a numeracy lens.

Our world and numbers – Dynamic Earth

Numeracy sessions including numeracy and climate, numeracy and habitat, numeracy and oceans.

Digital office course

This 10 week course will give you the digital and numeracy skills needed to confidently use office technologies in personal, educational, and professional contexts. 

By the end of the course you will:  

  • have developed your digital skills
  • be able to use MS Office 365 and in particular Outlook, Word, PPT, and Excel 
  • have gained an understanding of Digital Anxiety (Technophobia) and Maths Anxiety, and practical ways to cope with them to build confidence
  • have developed skills in numeracy by using digital applications.

Basic skills courses

Numeracy skills courses will cover subjects such as:

  • addition, subtraction, multiplication and division 
  • fractions, decimals, ratios and percentages
  • shapes and measurements
  • household budgeting.

Digital skills courses will help you use devices, including how to:

  • set up passwords and login details
  • send emails
  • create and edit documents and use spreadsheets
  • make video calls and use online chat tools
  • stay safe online.

Literacy skills courses will cover subjects such as:

  • reading
  • writing
  • spelling
  • speaking
  • listening.
